Animals have always been an important part of my life and I relish the challenge of trying to capture their unique personalities and characteristics on canvas.
The seemingly simple graphite pencil is one of my favourite mediums, even though each piece takes many hours of work. I like the way I can control the image, layering to add fine detail and depth whilst adding tone and texture.
Pastels were my first love and now again I will get the urge for some colour and create a pastel piece. This medium works so well for creating softness and fur.
Art for me is a continual journey of learning, improving and developing. I am very rarely satisfied with any piece I create, which pushes me on to improve and start the next one.
